If you've been tasked with coordinating professional headshots for 20, 50, 100, or even 200+ employees, you may be wondering how you're supposed to make that happen without disrupting an entire workday.
The good news? Your employees don't all need to come to a photography studio.
I bring the studio to you.
On-site corporate headshots allow companies to update their team's professional images efficiently and consistently, right at their office, corporate event or conference.
I bring a complete mobile studio; including professional lighting, backdrop and photography equipment to your location. Your employees rotate through their scheduled times, I guide each person through posing and expression, and they can get back to their day.
I provide on-site corporate headshots throughout Greensboro, High Point, Winston-Salem and the North Carolina Triad, as well as Raleigh-Durham and Charlotte. I've photographed everything from small leadership teams to companies with more than 200 employees.
Here's what you need to know if you're considering professional headshots for your company.
On-site corporate headshots are exactly what they sound like: professional employee headshots photographed at your place of business rather than in a photography studio.
Essentially, I turn a space in your office into a temporary professional studio. Consistency matters. When someone visits your website and sees your leadership team, sales department or staff directory, the images should look like they belong to the same company. The lighting should be consistent. The background should be consistent. The editing should be consistent. Your employees should still look like themselves, but your company should look like one cohesive brand.
One word: efficiency.
Think about the alternative.
You have 75 employees who need new headshots. Each person has to leave work, drive to a photography studio, park, have their photograph taken and drive back.
That's a lot of lost time.
With on-site corporate headshots, employees simply step away from their normal responsibilities for their scheduled photography time and then return to work.
It's particularly useful for:
Every company is different, but the basic process is pretty simple.
Before photography day, we'll talk about your company, your brand and how the images will be used. We'll determine the appropriate background, lighting, crop and overall feel of the images. A financial firm's executive portraits may need a completely different feel than the headshots for a creative agency. That's intentional. Your headshots should look like your company.
You don't need a beautiful office or a photography-ready space. I bring the equipment. A conference room, training room or other open area can often be transformed into a professional studio for the day.
Before your session, we'll discuss the space requirements so there aren't surprises when I arrive. I'll arrive with enough time to set up the backdrop, lighting and equipment and test everything before the first employee is scheduled.
When they walk in, we're ready.
This is where good planning makes a HUGE difference. For a large company, I don't recommend sending an email that says: “Headshots are from 9–12. Stop by whenever.”
You can probably imagine how that ends. Fifteen people show up at 9:05, there's a line out the door, and then no one comes for the next 45 minutes. Instead, we create a schedule based on your number of employees and what we're creating for each person.
If your company needs one final consistent headshot per employee, we can move through people much more quickly than if every person needs multiple final images and additional variety.
Your employees don't need to know how to pose. That's my job.
I've spent years studying lighting, posing, body positioning and expression. I direct each person throughout the entire process. I'll tell them where to stand, how to position their body, where to put their hands, what to do with their chin and where to look. They're not expected to figure it out. While consistency is important for corporate headshots, I don't believe consistency means everyone should look exactly the same
One corporate client shared this after I photographed more than 40 employees during their event:
“Very happy with the professional headshots that Autumn took for over 40+ employees for a corporate event! Our employees enjoyed having different options to choose from. Autumn was very friendly, flexible, and made the headshot experience enjoyable for everyone involved. Highly recommend!!”
That's always the goal. Yes, the company needs consistent professional images. But I also want the person IN the photograph to actually like their headshot.
How Long Does It Take to Photograph 50 or 100 Employees?
This is probably one of the biggest questions companies have. The answer depends on how many people we're photographing and what you want each person to receive.
There is a significant difference between photographing 20 executives who each need multiple finished portraits and photographing 100 employees who each need one consistent company headshot. For high-volume corporate projects, I create the photography schedule around the company's specific needs.
I've photographed teams ranging from approximately 10 people to more than 200 employees. At that volume, workflow becomes incredibly important.
It's about keeping people moving, maintaining consistent lighting and posing, giving each employee a good experience and making sure the 100th person's image looks just as polished as the first person's.
Absolutely, and sometimes this is the perfect opportunity. If your company has employees traveling from different offices or regions, a company meeting, sales conference, convention or annual event may be one of the few times everyone is physically in the same place.
Instead of coordinating another photography day later, we can incorporate a professional headshot station directly into your event. On-site headshots can also be an attendee experience at conferences.
Instead of another promotional item attendees may never use, they leave with something professionally valuable: an updated headshot for LinkedIn, their company website, speaking engagements and professional profiles.
There isn't one universal price for corporate headshots because no two company projects are exactly alike.
Pricing can depend on:
A company needing one finished headshot for 100 employees has very different requirements from a leadership team needing several portraits per executive.
That's why larger corporate headshot projects are typically custom quoted.
If you contact me with your company location, approximate number of employees and what you're hoping to accomplish, I can help determine the best approach.
