This fall, I had the privilege of working as the event and product photographer for the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) and Business of Home at the fall 2026 furniture market at Broad Hall in High Point. If you are looking for a furniture market photographer who understands how to capture both the big picture and the fine details of a showroom, here is a look at what that work involved.
My assignment covered the full experience of the NKBA and Business of Home presence, from design-forward room vignettes to close-up product details to the people who made it happen:
The setting made my job a joy. Barber Spangle Design led the creative direction and turned Broad Hall into a beautifully styled, cohesive environment. Great design makes for great photography, and the layered materials, lighting, and styling gave every vignette a clear point of view.
For brands exhibiting at a furniture market, this is the value of strong creative direction paired with strong photography: the space tells a story, and the images carry that story long after the market closes.
The kitchen and bath vignettes and product details featured a standout lineup of brands:
Each brand needed more than a snapshot. Product photography at a market means catching finish, texture, and craftsmanship in a busy, ever-changing environment, while also showing the product in context so designers, builders, and homeowners can picture it in their own projects.
The conversations were as important as the products. I photographed panels and speaker sessions featuring designer Thom Filicia, Kaitlin Petersen, Editor in Chief of Business of Home, and industry voices such as Sarah Shelton, Benjamin Johnston, and Carisha Swanson.
Panel and speaker photography at a furniture market means capturing expressions, audience reactions, and the energy of the room in changing light. These images give organizations like NKBA and Business of Home lasting content for recaps, press, and social media.
Shooting a trade show or furniture market is not the same as a studio session. A few things I focus on:
A furniture market photographer documents showrooms, vignettes, products, events, and speakers at a market so brands, organizations, and media have professional images for marketing, press, and social media.
Yes. I photograph kitchen and bath details including sinks, faucets, countertops, lighting, appliances, vanities, and cabinets, both as close-up product shots and as part of styled room vignettes.
Yes. In addition to product and interior work, I cover panels, speaker sessions, and private dinners, including the VIP dinner at The Gallery for this project.
Trade associations, media brands, manufacturers, showrooms, and design firms exhibiting or hosting at furniture markets and design events.
