There’s something magical about photographing seniors who radiate both confidence and kindness. Emma Caroline brought all that and more to her senior portrait session. A cheerleader at Northern Guilford High School, Emma’s session was the perfect mix of school spirit, natural beauty, and that glowing golden-hour light every photographer dreams of.
We kicked off Emma Caroline’s senior session in true NGHS fashion, with her cheer uniform and megaphone in hand. From the very first pose, her energy was contagious. She’s spent years on the sidelines hyping up her team and community, and it shows. Every smile and jump felt like a celebration of her time as a Northern Guilford Nighthawk.
Her parents wanted this part of the shoot to reflect her dedication to cheer, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. We captured her in her element, bright stadium lights, pom-poms in motion, and that unmistakable sparkle in her eyes that says, “This is my year.
If Part 1 of Emma Caroline’s senior portraits showed her school spirit as a Northern Guilford High School cheerleader, Part 2 was all about soft beauty, golden light, and a little bit of country charm. We traded pom-poms for petals and made our way to Dogwood Farms, one of my favorite locations near Greensboro for senior photos.
Dogwood Farms is pure North Carolina magic during late summer and early fall. The wide-open fields, rows of wildflowers, and rustic textures make it the perfect backdrop for senior portraits that feel both natural and elevated. Emma Caroline fit right in. Her easy smile, soft curls, and calm confidence matched the setting perfectly.
We wandered through the wildflower field as the sun began to dip low, capturing those dreamy, backlit moments that make you want to freeze time. The combination of the golden glow and the vibrant blooms created the most painterly light, every photographer’s dream.
Of course, no session at Dogwood Farms is complete without their old blue truck, and Emma Caroline made it look straight out of a magazine cover. The vintage charm of that truck added a fun, nostalgic vibe to her senior gallery. We played with a mix of poses. Some classic, some candid and finished with a few dramatic, editorial-style shots that perfectly closed out her session.
The way the late-day sun hit the truck and wrapped around her created the most cinematic look. It’s the kind of light that doesn’t just photograph beautifully, it feels like the end of senior year: golden, full of hope, and ready for what’s next.
From cheering under Friday night lights to running through wildflowers at sunset, Emma Caroline’s senior portraits captured every side of who she is, spirited, kind, confident, and full of life.
If you’re a high school senior in Greensboro, High Point, Winston-Salem, or Raleigh, and you’re dreaming of senior photos that feel authentic, fun, and uniquely you, Dogwood Farms is the perfect spot. Whether you want something bold and editorial or soft and timeless, we’ll create portraits that tell your story beautifully.

Emma Caroline is also one of my 2026 Senior Team members, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to have her as part of this year’s group. She brings such a positive, uplifting energy to every shoot. Always cheering others on and bringing out the best in everyone around her. Watching her represent the Class of 2026 with confidence and grace has been such a joy, and this session at Dogwood Farms was just the beginning of what’s to come for our team this year.
