Ella Kate’s Senior Session in Blowing Rock

Senior sessions are all about celebrating who you are and the things you love, and Ella Kate’s session could not have been more perfect! She’s a Rockingham County High School senior and a member of my senior team, and she brought so much beauty, grace, and personality to her photos.

Starting at Moses Cone Park

We kicked things off at Moses Cone Park in Blowing Rock, NC, one of my favorite locations for senior photos. With its timeless stone architecture and stunning grounds, it created the perfect setting to highlight Ella Kate’s love of ballet. She wore her leotard and tutu for part of the session, showing off her pointe shoes against the backdrop of the manor and stone walls. It was simply breathtaking. Mom and dad watched as she posed and smile in awe of her.

Scenic Vistas Along the Parkway

During our session, we visited two stunning viewpoints along the Blue Ridge Parkway:

Raven Rock Overlook – facing east, this spot offered soft, ethereal lighting and sweeping mountain views.
Thunder Hill Overlook – facing west, this location allowed us to capture the warm hues of the setting sun, providing a fresh perspective.

By incorporating both overlooks, we were able to create two contrasting looks within a single session, a hallmark of the unforgettable experience that I strive to offer my senior clients.

Celebrating Her Senior Year

What I love about Ella Kate’s session is how it reflected her passions. From the elegance of ballet to the adventure of mountain views, every location told part of her story. This is exactly what the senior portrait experience is all about, customizing each session so seniors walk away with images that feel like them.

As a member of my senior team, Ella Kate gets to be part of extra styled shoots and fun group experiences throughout the year. It’s such a joy to work with her and see her personality shine, both in team shoots and her personal senior session.
