Sweet Moments at Maxie B’s : A Content Shoot for Greensboro City Lifestyle Magazine

If you’ve spent any time in Greensboro, you know there’s one place where sugar, charm, and Southern hospitality meet, Maxie B’s Bakery. This local favorite has been serving up delicious cakes, cookies, and all-things-sweet for decades, and recently, I had the joy of capturing its story for Greensboro City Lifestyle Magazine.

A Greensboro Icon with Heart

Maxie B’s isn’t just a bakery, it’s a Greensboro institution. From the pastel-painted walls to the scent of fresh-baked cakes that greets you at the door, every detail reflects the love and care that owner Robin Davis and her team pour into their work. It’s the kind of place where birthdays, weddings, and “just because” moments all begin with a slice of cake.

Capturing the Atmosphere

For this content shoot, my goal was to highlight what makes Maxie B’s so special,  the warmth, the craftsmanship, and the nostalgia that keeps people coming back year after year. We photographed the cozy interior, colorful cake displays, and those irresistible dessert cases that stop you in your tracks. Every image tells the story of a small business that has become woven into the fabric of Greensboro’s local culture.

One of the sweetest parts of Maxie B’s story is their commitment to using locally sourced ingredients. Their milk comes straight from Homeland Creamery, a family-owned dairy farm just outside Greensboro in Julian, North Carolina. This partnership keeps their ingredients fresh, supports local agriculture, and ensures every bite tastes like home. From rich buttercream frosting to the moist layers of their famous cakes, you can truly taste the difference that farm-fresh ingredients make, a perfect example of how Maxie B’s blends community, craftsmanship, and quality in every dessert.

Local Business, Local Love

Shoots like this remind me why I love being a Greensboro brand photographer. Supporting and celebrating local businesses, especially those that bring people together  is at the heart of what I do. Whether it’s a small bakery, boutique, or creative entrepreneur, every brand has a story worth telling through beautiful, authentic imagery.
